About Me

My name is Krish Eswaran. I am an applied AI researcher, software engineer, and 2x founder living in the Bay Area, currently working on something new.

Prior to joining the startup world, I spent 15 years at Google, most recently in Google Research, where I led healthcare AI efforts, with work published in the Nature family and health-focused journals (e.g. The Lancet family and New England Journal of Medicine AI). Here is a talk I gave from that era about our group’s work in multimodal medical AI and how these systems translate into clinical practice. My career at Google also included being one of the lead engineers behind the launch and expansion of Google Fiber, as well as technical lead for YouTube’s live transcoding pipeline that powered live streaming of the 2012 London Olympics and cited in YouTube’s engineering Emmy the following year.

My academic background is in information theory and signal processing, with a PhD from UC Berkeley’s Department of Electrical Engineer and Computer Sciences, a BS from Cornell University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with research internships and projects along the way that included the Broad Institute, Xerox PARC, and AT&T Labs.
